How is it that someone can always speak with Bible verses with confidence? Do you sound like this: In the Bible somewhere it says.... It says something like this. I know it's in the Bible that.... Use these 5 tips I am going to share with you to memorise Bible verses effortlessly!
1. USE GOOD TOOLS
If the ax is dull,
And one does not sharpen the edge,
Then he must use more strength;
But wisdom brings success. (Ecclesiastes 10:10)
Vocabulary cards, apps, post-it notes around the house.

2. MEMORISE WORD-PERFECT
You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you. (Deuteronomy 4:2)
It takes the same amount of effort to memorise it incorrectly. So might as well! And God says don't change His word!
3. REVIEW (SETTING A PACE)
I find it helpful to have daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly review.
1-2 verses a week is manageable for me.
4. KNOW YOUR REFERENCES
Use sandwich method. Reference-verse-reference. So you can show someone the verses! So that you can always go back to find the context or read the whole passage when you want to dig deeper!
5. GET ACCOUNTABILITY
Do it with a friend or a prayer partner. It motivates you more and makes it more fun when you do it with someone else!
Daniel and I choose a verse each to memorise and we test each other when we can!
………………………………………………………
So now you know how to memorise Bible verses. Some questions I get asked a lot is:
WHAT VERSES TO MEMORISE
Whatever God has spoken to you when you read the Bible. There are verses that are going to jump out and those are the verses to memorise!
If you are up for a challenge to memorise a whole chapter or a whole book, stick to short passages to begin with.
Bible promises
Topic interest (eg. forgiveness, love...)
MEDITATE AND APPLY THE WORD
If you don't meditate and ponder and dig deep into the Word, you're not getting the best of it. Use it in your practical life or it will only be dead words.
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. (James 1:22)
